Edgeland Modern is a CIC, which insists on not being easily pinned-down: organically adapting to the creative needs of it’s directors and collaborators.
The following are Edgeland Directors:
Rachael Adams
Artist, designer and publisher, (The Scrutineer & occasionally Frieda Frowhawk). Work encompasses painting, photography, sound, film, installation and printed-matter. Design & publishing work predominantly (and collaboratively) with writers & artists.
Gret Heffernan
Writer of fiction, essays, poetry, screenplays and text art. Publisher at Backlash Press. Work has featured in AGNI, Brittle Star, A Rabbit’s Foot, and longlisted by the BBC.
Robert Littleford
Artist, illustrator and designer, (Hand-Drawn) trained at the Royal College of Art. Work has appeared in publishing, advertising and magazine spreads around the world.
Pat Thornton
Artist (painting, print-making and collage), and tutor, teaching for many years on Foundation courses. Recently short-listed for the Jerwood Drawing Prize.

Jac Batey
Academic practitioner-researcher who creates artists’ books and zines under the brand Damp Flat Books.
Chris Mullen
Co-founder of BA Photography, PG-Dip Narrative Illustration/Editorial Design + MA Sequential Art at University of Brighton, he also developed practice based MA and PhD research, devising innovative models on how to visualize the research process and ask research questions in visual ways. This attracted PhD students with a studio practice from all over the world.
